Chamber Employment Opportunities
President, Hunterdon County Chamber of Commerce
Hunterdon County (NJ) Chamber of Commerce is accepting resumes of qualified individuals with demonstrated leadership experience for the FT position of President. Duties include ultimate and overall leadership, operation and accountability for the Hunterdon County Chamber of Commerce including its profitability, internal systems, operations, business development, recruitment of board and volunteers, planning and organizing, ethical conduct, personnel issues and civic, government and business interface.
Must have Bachelors Degree, Masters preferred or equivalent experience. Must have systems thinking, be a visionary, comfortable with public persona, known/demonstrated leadership style and very strong written and verbal communication skills with high degree of relevance.
Full and PT staff. Oversees Shared Services and tourism functions.
Salary: $80s. Benefits. EOE.

1) Give an example of a situation that demonstrates your ability to turn around a project, situation or event that was heading for a less that desirable conclusion. Emphasize how your ingenuity, diplomacy, communication skills, ability to think quickly on your feet and other skills managed the situation and resulted in a positive conclusion.
2) What, in your opinion, is the primary role of the Chamber of Commerce?

Tourism
With a new grant to more formally establish Hunterdon County as a Destination Marketing Organization, the Chamber Board and staff are dedicated to having Hunterdon County’s natural resources, its outstanding recreational opportunities and events and retail/boutique excellence pay off in tourism dollars. “New Jersey’s West Coast” has much to boast for the state and will garner the Chamber’s attention with sustained fervor in 2008.

Advocacy
The expertise of our legal and political volunteers who educate themselves, make the right contacts, meet frequently to assimilate legislation and political trends and then recommend actions to the chamber board and staff that they believe most represent you and your needs for an active business climate, one that maintains our quality of life and sustainable tax structure for the future.

Shared Services
Shared Services focuses on establishing working relationships between municipalities, the county, schools and other public entities to seek ways of consolidating, reducing redundancy and sharing equipment, personnel and services toward saving tax-payer dollars.
