Clinton

Quintessential Small Town America...

Bring your camera when you go to visit the town of Clinton - the location of the New Jersey's number one most photographed historic site - the Red Mill.

The Mill serves as the perfect backdrop to one of the most picturesque villages in Hunterdon County. You can easily spend a day in Clinton. Explore the historic collections and industrial buildings of the Red Mill Museum Village or visit during one of the Museum's special weekend events.

Cross a 19th century iron truss bridge and visit the Hunterdon County Art Museum (once a stone grist mill) where work by up-and-coming contemporary artists is on display.

The Village of Clinton offers visitors the quintessential small town experience with its historic facades, tree lined sidewalks and artistically decorated window displays. Shop to your heart's content, or sit at one of the outdoor cafes for a bite to eat.
Throughout the year take advantage of the town's special events - Friday Night Music through the Summer, the Haunted Mill in the Fall and Dickens Days for the Holiday Season.

If you prefer nature to culture go fishing, boating or hiking along the South Branch of the Raritan River - bring your binoculars and catch glimpses of native birds and wildlife. Just north of town is the Spruce Run Reservoir, which offers more opportunities to explore nature. For an even better view of Clinton, take a hot air balloon ride and catch the countryside from above.
