NJEDA - New jersey Economic Development Authority

The Hunterdon County Chamber of Commerce through the Unity Bank Center for Business & Entrepreneurship and the NJ Economic Development Authority (NJEDA) are offering monthly Office Hours with NJEDA’s Senior Small Business Liaison.   NJEDA offers grants and loans for businesses and non-profit entities for leases, equipment, capital improvements and working capital.

“Often, business organizations are not aware of the vast number of funding options available, said Chris Phelan, President/CEO, Hunterdon County Chamber of Commerce.    One example of NJEDA’s programs is the Small Business Improvement Grant which reimburses NJ business owners up to $50,000 for capital improvements and equipment. Our partnership with NJEDA is a leap forward to ensure Hunterdon County’s businesses have access to capital and resources needed to grow their organizations, added Phelan.”
Kathy Guzman, Senior Small Business Liaison, NJEDA will be onsite at the Chamber’s Office in Flemington the 3rd Wednesday of every month to meet one on one with business owners.  Businesses will have the opportunity to learn about NJEDA’s grant and loan programs and identify which programs may fit the business’s circumstances.  Appointments are being scheduled by the Hunterdon County Chamber of Commerce starting Wednesday, November 13th .

In addition to NJEDA Office Hours, the Hunterdon County Chamber of Commerce through the Unity Bank Center for Business & Entrepreneurship partners with SCORE Central Jersey.   SCORE Central Jersey mentors are available on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month to meet with business owners and non-profits for assistance with planning, marketing, operations, and other technical issues related to owning a business.

"Plus, SCORE Central Jersey mentors can assist businesses and non-profits with their NJEDA Small Business Improvement Grant applications."  These offerings are on ongoing partnership made possible through the Hunterdon County Chamber of Commerce Foundation and a commitment of the Hunterdon Board of Commissioners and the County of Hunterdon to provide outreach, training, technical assistance and support for the Hunterdon County Business Community.
